Vice President of Sales

Markus Lopez is the Vice President of Sales at Beck’s Shoes. His primary role is to manage and develop talent within the retail sector. In addition, he is integral in driving revenue generation, and helping to meet all sales and metric goals. He is also responsible for hiring retail positions, while always aiming to recognize current team member talent and looking for opportunities of upward mobility, so team members can excel within the Beck’s  Shoes organization. This is a central tenant in the company philosophy, which Markus himself was grateful to have experienced first hand as he promoted through the years from store manager, to regional manager, to his current position as VP of Sales. Markus’s dedication toward this goal is highly valued! 

 

After over a decade of experience in managing luxury goods, specifically men’s suiting, Markus found his passion for making a difference in customer’s daily lives leading him to pursue a career in the shoe industry. He feels particularly motivated in his work at Beck’s, as he recognizes the unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of others on a daily basis. During his tenure working in small luxury business, he helped to develop an inventory control system, shopped and implemented a POS system, created an employee handbook, created a new hire training program, and over the course of seven years, helped to bring store volume up from 800k to 3.2 million yearly. This experience uniquely prepared him for his role at Beck’s, where his experience and expertise have guided him to effectively lead the sales team.

 

Markus is the proud father of three incredible children and is gratefully indebted to his amazing wife. He is motivated to be his best self for his family, and is consistently striving to lead a life that honors them. He is particularly inspired by his mother, who raised five boys nearly by herself. A strong work ethic is what helps him to lead by example and promote the company ideal of “exceeding expectations”, hoping to create an amplified effect within the company as a whole. He lives by the phrase, “If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will see results”.
